The Episcopal Church has historically been seen as a middle way between the Roman Catholic and Protestant traditions. At the altar and baptismal font we are catholic while at the pulpit we are both protestant and evangelical.
The Episcopal Church offers a faith rooted in the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer. Our rich worship tradition centers on the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Baptism. We also mark life’s transitions through the rites for Holy Matrimony, ministry to the sick and Christian Burial. We seek to provide appropriate support and counseling for individuals and their families.
We value a responsible Christian commitment to our world, with a flexibility that allows for a healthy diversity of opinion.
The Episcopal Church Offers:
- A warm welcome
- Biblical preaching
- A rich liturgy
- Fine music
- A choice of services each Sunday
- A solid program of Christian education for all ages
- Opportunities to be with affirming and creative people
If the Episcopal Church is new to you, the order of service comes from the Book of Common Prayer. We have begun to publish the Sunday liturgy and music in a convenient, easy to use booklet format. So you don’t have to be a lifelong Episcopalian to fully participate in the service. If, however, you are well-grounded in the Anglican tradition, you may, of course, use the Book of Common Prayer and the hymnal.
